ExpoNegocios 2024: Generations in Evolution
The talk I gave at ExpoNegocios Paraguay on the role of new generations as agents of change within organisations.

On 11 September 2024, I spoke at ExpoNegocios, one of Paraguay's leading business events. The gathering brought together around 600 people at the Paseo La Galería Events Centre in Asunción, with more than twenty international speakers.
The Talk: Generations in Evolution
My contribution focused on the role new generations can play within organisations. Not simply as people entering the workplace with different habits, but as professionals capable of driving change when they are given trust, context and room to act.
The conversation also raised a shared responsibility: younger professionals need to turn their ideas into initiative, while more experienced leaders need to create genuine opportunities for that initiative to become valuable.
The Context
ExpoNegocios was celebrating its twentieth edition with a programme dedicated to the major changes affecting companies: leadership, workplace culture, innovation, artificial intelligence, marketing, customer experience and new ways of working.
Within that programme, “Generations in Evolution” brought an intergenerational perspective. The aim was not to set age groups against one another, but to understand how experience and new viewpoints can combine to build more inclusive, diverse and human organisations.
The Main Idea
A generation does not transform an organisation simply by being younger. It does so when it understands the context, takes responsibility and finds leaders willing to listen. Change happens when both sides stop talking about one another and start working together.
